PHILOLOGIST – LINGUIST – EDUCATOR

She studied Philology and Linguistics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, before pursuing postgraduate studies in Linguistics at the University of Cambridge in England. Throughout her professional career, she has worked as an editor of archival material for publication at Kazantzakis Publications, as a researcher at the Centre for the Research of Modern Greek Dialects and Idioms of the Academy of Athens, and as a Greek-language assessor for the Ministry of the Interior in connection with the Certificate of Adequacy of Knowledge for Naturalisation.

A particularly significant milestone in her career was her collaboration with the poet Nanos Valaoritis on the publication of Modern Greek Poetry: An Anthology. (Talisman House 2003).

Alongside her research and editorial work, she taught Modern Greek as a foreign language at IDEKE, an educational institution under the Ministry of Education, and subsequently worked as a philologist at Athens College.

Her love of children and her deep belief in the transformative power of learning led her to complete further studies in Education at the Department of Primary Education of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, marking the beginning of a new and creative chapter in her professional journey.

Today, she works as a primary school teacher, guided by the principles of play-based and experiential learning. In the space where imagination, curiosity, and reason meet, she seeks each day to solve one of the most rewarding challenges in education: how to capture a child’s mind and inspire a genuine desire to explore, experiment, question, persevere, and ultimately forge their own path.
