…and this October we turn knowledge into a creative game on the island!!
The Puzzle Festival (PF), an innovative institution that combines science, technology, puzzles, and art, this year marks six years of uninterrupted presence in Kastellorizo. Its reputation and prestige are now growing exponentially, gaining recognition and prominence in the field of Science Communication.
This was also the shared goal of Pantazis Houlis, founder of the Meduseum Puzzle Museum, and Eleni Grammatikopoulou, with a long-standing contribution to the field of science communication, who conceived and have been organizing this ambitious and bold project since 2021: “Always with puzzles at the center, Kastellorizo transforms each year into a hub of creative thinking, knowledge, and scientific inspiration, maintaining a continuous and open dialogue with puzzle enthusiasts, academic teachers, scientists, researchers, and artists, who share and support the organizers’ vision.
The festival also aims to expand its reach, traveling from Patras and Athens (2022) to the remote Xanthi (2025) and recently (2026) to Vamvakou in Parnonas. At the same time, it is becoming a hub and meeting place for a significant number of students and teachers from nearby islands and other regions, as well as numerous researchers and scientists from the Greek and international academic community.
This year, The PF is committed once again to being a versatile, multi-themed event, enriching its program with original scientific presentations, workshops, innovative experiments, interactive exhibitions, talks, and artistic activities. Our constant aim is not to repeat exactly the activities of previous years, but to evolve them and innovate, expanding this great celebration beyond the limits of Megisti and the Dodecanese.
The detailed program and the names of the speakers will be announced soon.
The Kastellorizo Puzzle Festival welcomes you with the same message:
“We’re not just repeating events from the past, but making history by exporting traditional, innovative, and creative culture.”
➢ From the Kastellorizians in Kastellorizo,
➢ From Kastellorizo to the rest of Greece,
➢ And from Greece to the rest of the world!
Because Puzzle Flowers – the new puzzle – are the logo of the 6th KPF:

Hundreds of beautiful flowers bloom in Kastellorizo. But due to its location, our remote little island is lucky enough to host some of the rarest species in the world. For example, the Kastellorizo Bellflower (Campanula Kastellorizana), the “Lemon Ice Lolly” (Biarum Ditschianum), the “Paradoxical Cymbal” (Cymbalaria Paradoxa), the “Long Polygon” (Polygonum Praelongum), and a stunning wild carnation (Dianthus Muglensis). The variety and complexity of these flowers, with their exotic texture and colorful petals, create a beautiful mystery of nature.
So, all these… puzzling flowers of Kastellorizo come to introduce us to a forgotten but wonderful world of creation. And those who let themselves dive into this knowledge, besides understanding the flora, will learn many other things, like exact division with remainders and some special “mathemagical” tricks.
