9th Megistian Aenigma Agon – ICARUS’ ISLANDS

Every interested party (whether young or old) can participate in the 9th MAA, a now institutionalized puzzle competition. This year, contestants will give their best in different levels. They will participate in games such as the Dodecathlon and Dots. In the final phase of the new innovative game at the Puzzle Museum, ICARUS’ ISLANDS, the best will prevail! The creator of these puzzles, Pantazis Houlis, invites us to fly with the wings of Icarus, Pegasus, or even the Siren to explore the shortest distance when visiting selected Greek islands! We learn History, Mythology, Mathematics, Geography, and Strategy through play…

The Megistian Aenigma Agon (Megistian, due to the island’s name “Megisti”) is a Quadruple International Competition (of Inscription, Illusion, Invention, and Interaction) that started in 2017. It is a celebration of games and wordplay for children aged 0 to 150, showcasing Greece’s leadership role in the world. Since 2021, the Megistian Aenigma Agon has been part of the Kastellorizo Puzzle Festival (as well as the just like the 18th KEC Puzzle Exhibition that started in 2008). The other three contests of the MAA, involving verbal puzzles (Inscription), image puzzles (Illusion), or three-dimensional puzzles (Invention), have not been held since 2022, due to multiple organizations and lack of time. However, we hope they will return at some point in the future.
