Thinkpetizers  – Tasty bites of Creative Thinking

  • A fast-paced workshop offering an experiential and playful introduction to Creative Thinking and Creativity. 
  • The main goal is to inspire through fun, as well as to whet the participants’ appetite for creative thinking. 
  • It includes fun exercises, the “Thinkpetizers”, that combine Creativity with Fun and practice various aspects of Creative Thinking (imagination, open mind edness, inventiveness, unconventionality, nonsense, etc.).

Duration: 70′ – For children 10+ years old and adults. Parents can participate along with their children.

GDPR and the 40 thieves: Privacy and personal data in the digital era

  • The workshop combines humour and imagination to present in an understandable and entertaining way issues related to the European General Data Protection Regulation (known as GDPR) and the fundamental rights and freedoms it ensures for all citizens of the European Union. 
  • The main goal is to provide food for (creative) thought, as well as a nice entertaining experience.
  • It is based on the “GDPR and the 40 thieves” comic by Dimitris Grammenos and Anthi Strataki (Crete University Press – CUP), which won the Knowledge Book Award of the Literary Reader Awards 2021, a live workshop conducted in cooperation with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority and a webinar available on the educational platform Mathesis by CUP that has been attended by more than 4. 500 people of all ages.

Duration: 70′ – For children 10+ years old and adults. Parents can participate along with their children.

Dimitris is a Principal Researcher at the Institute of Computer Science of the Foundation for Research and TechnologyHellas (FORTH). He also holds a Certificate of Competency for the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking (TTCT). Since 2014, he created the "Future Designers” activity in the context of which he develops and delivers workshops and events that introduce the concepts and practice of design, creativity and creative thinking to children, parents, teachers and the general public. Up to now, he has organised more than 75 workshops in 5 countries and online, with a total of more than 8.500 participants of all ages.
Data Protection Officer, FORTH Anthi Strataki is a physicist with postgraduate studies in Total Quality Management (TQM) and is a certified Validator & Assessor of the European Foundation for Quality Management's "Business Excellence" model (EFQM Excellence Model). She has been working as a Technical Specialist at the Institute of Computer Science of the Foundation for Research and TechnologyHellas (FORTH) since 2001, and since March 2018, she is the Data Protection Officer of FORTH.

The Institute of Computer Science (ICS) is one of the eight institutes of the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (FORTH), a major national research centre partly funded by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology of the Hellenic Ministry of Development and Investments. The mission of FORTHICS is to perform high quality basic and applied research, to promote education and training, and to contribute to the development of the Information Society, at a regional, national, and European level. Since its establishment in 1983, FORTHICS has had a long history and recognized tradition in conducting basic and applied research, and playing a leading role, in Greece and internationally, in the field of Information and Communication Technologies.


FORTHICS is located at FORTH’s headquarters in Heraklion, Crete, and currently employs about 350 people. Since its foundation in 1983, it has been internationally competitive and has excelled in all evaluations of research institutes in Greece by the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation (GSRI), having always been ranked first in the field of Computer Science. FORTHICS actively participates in the economic, social and technological development of the Region of Crete, in close cooperation with the local government and other local institutions and organizations.
